    Thanks Ged.
    Hi Daisy
Yes, I've been putting different parts of it together. It is rather disjointed at the moment!! I suppose I should do it from the start (which I will get round to) but find myself being taken to different areas of it!
    Thanks

When I last watched the Man from the Pru, I decided to take a walk around the area concerned one evening, Wolverton st, The triangle, past the church and it was magical and atmosperic to think it was retracing the footsteps of such a famous case and you could imagine the tram scenes of long ago.

    Hi Ged,

Yes, I'm the same. Whenever I walk around the area I try to imagine what it must have been like. Wish ITV would give that docu-drama Who Killed Julia Wallace? another screening. They actually used the locations. Haven't seen it for many years though

I,d be interested in seeing that film Mark, not sure if I,ve seen it in the past, but that area was my stomping ground for a few years, and I too retraced Mr Wallace,s steps a few times. I,m of the mind that he didn,t do it but I don,t know.

    Hi Chippie,

Yes, I'm not convinced Wallace committed the murder. The more I find out about it the less I'm convinced. That film was made by Yorkshire Television. It was aired late October 1975. I'm sure it was repeated sometime in the early 80's. The actor who portrayed Wallace was Eric Longworth (it was his debut as an actor I believe). He also went on to appear in Dad's Army and Coronation Street. It was really good though I didn't agree with the verdict.

Took these photographs yesterday (6 November 07).
Maybrick's grave is in a pitiful state.

Believe me it is heavy!! I once held it up (onto the bottom half of the stone) whilst a friend took a photo (I was trying to conceal myself behind the stone, stooping down!!). I was shouting to her to hurry up!!

Aaaargh. Prior to the Maybrick Trial in May, I was in contact with a gentleman who has charge of the cemeteries, put in touch with him through the good offices of Scouserdave (Dave Wood), and he was going to try to have the Maybrick gravestone repaired. Looks like it did not happen.

Thanks as well, Mark, for posting the image of the Wallace grave. It is a wierd situation for them to be buried together if Wallace in fact did to the murder. Here in the U.S. there is the case of a convicted and later executed murderer, William Udderzook, who asked though to be buried with the man he had murdered in 1873, Winfield Scott Goss.

    Hi Chris

Interesting re: murderer William Udderzook. Was his request granted?

    Hi Mark

I don't know. I rather think not. But I have not fully researched where he was buried. I am writing an article about the case for a literary magazine I edit.

Be interesting reading that Chris. Let us know what materialises.

Quite a few headstones have been desecrated in Anfield Cemetary. I'm wondering how long it will be before the same thing happens to Julia's/Wallace's grave. The cemetary has also been the scene of 'muggings' in recent years.
