The fire station I mentioned earlier was behind these houses at the left, and Dukes Terrace (back-to-backs) were (and are) behind at the right.
Just off the photo to the right was the concealed entrance to Dukes Terrace.
I remember going down that concealed entrance to take a pic of Dukes Terrace. Hubby wondered what on earth I was doing ,as did 2 Chinese blokes who were stood at the back of a shop having a ciggie.
Had to clamber over rubbish and rubble to get to it at the time.
