    Default Police Stations/Bridewells of Liverpool

I thought this would be a really interesting thread as the bridewells especially interest me.
Hat's off to Greg's Dad who highlighted the bridewell on Cheapside.

I took some pictures myself today.

Then there were the prisoners!
    Brilliant bit of info thanks!

The Chief Inspector hopped it and I started to explain to the Desk Sergeant what the circumstances of the arrest were. He said "er, can I have a word you our kid round the back". So we went into the corridor at the back of the charge desk. "You see mate, he is one of the Prison Officers from Walton that we have here to do the escorts, can you leave him with us" so it was a case of "Righto Sarge" and I hopped it too. I heard the next day that when he had sobered up, the bugger alleged that he was 30 quid light!
What a gret story that is!

there was a nice police station just around the corner from me in Seaforth. sadly demolished last year to make way for a block of uninspiring flats.

    Wow Chris!
    Have you any old pics?
