The rainbow was 180 degree over Liverpool yesterday around 8 pm
One end at Liverpool
Other end at Seacombe
And it did look like this

What a great pic.
It has to be picture of the year and not just POTD.
Fabulous.

A magical picture - one you could probably get money for because it's so unexpected.
Agreed, fabulous. Is that another fainter rainbow on the outside of it. Look at the different colour of the sky on the inside of the rainbow.
Yes it is ..When I was taking photo I notice only liverpool end of second rainbow,I couldn't see other end...But at photo we could see both end...
This photo of total of 6 frame and stitched together....with 28 mm lens and being this close made impossoble to take as a one frame...
@baztop3,
When I noticed rainbow I was at shop, straitaway drove to home ,grab my camera and went to Egremont Ferry...When I get there view was fantastic better than I could see it from shop.Noting was blocking view,no building, threes etc...Basicly Full Monty view![]()

Hi Ged and kebabman
A double rainbow is a rare phenomenon but such does occur occasionally. See the entry in Wikipedia on "Rainbow" where they show a rare double rainbow in Alaska. About the phenomenon they say, "More rarely, a double rainbow is seen, which includes a second, fainter arc with colours in the opposite order, that is, with violet on the outside and red on the inside."

Thanks for that link, Kev.
When they do these renders of what the skyline is going to look like in the future, why can't they show the buildings under construction as they will appear when they're finished?
It looks stupid seeing Beetham West with still a lot of cladding to be done, when it's surrounded by bright shiny towers (all nicely finished, I might add).
Not to mention the other buildings under construction.
I suppose it could be said, in the future, that it will help to date the renders!
