I think I've got a contour map of Liverpool.
I'll have a look.
Ged, the audio tape you want is on its way.
Only £50!

Audio tape? tell me more, tell me more (could she get me a friend)....
Thanks for that Phil, will do and any you want for old Liverpool let me know.
I bought a map once and found that if you crumbled your rich tea biscuits on your desk before laying it out, it could also be used as a contour map. If you blew the crumbs around a bit, you could also get different results to suit your needs too.
Once heard that St Georges Heights was built on the highest point in Liverpool but I can,t quantify that statement

Hi Chippy, I Lived up by those flats a long time ago, I also was told that they were built on the highest point, must be something in it then.
thank you Gerard about the highest point, and Jackie, I lived in the heights and off Heyworth Street for 47 years. Smashing photos Ged, particularly like the one of Ann Fowlers in it,s latter days. John F Kenneddy Heights was home and death place of my gran and mam, in separate blocks. I would have thought that the heights along Netherfield Road would have been done up. I can just visualise them all standing so boldly from my bedroom window on the 19th floor. I used to have my headphones on and be listening to David Bowies Aladin Sane watching the world go by back in the 70s
Chippie. I'm just trying to place Cresswell Mount as there were that many along Nethy. Am I right in thinking they stood bewteen George's Heights and Northumberland Terrace so perhaps where John Bagot Close flats are now. Am I also right in thinking that Rock View heights were on Torr Street, Mandy might be able to help with that one.?
Hi Ged, Cresswell Mount fronted Northumberland Terrace with the sides pointing north/south. North overlooking the south end of John Bagot Hospital and south looking towards St Georges and the back end of Heyworth Street School. It ended at the top of Fairy Street.
Sorry Ged, I was thinking of the time I was living in St Georges saying that John Bagot was at the side of the flats, I stand corrected, John Bagot was at the back of the front elevation
Thanks Chippie, that's cleared something up because another poster had said on another thread that they were further along from Northumberland Terrace but I was sure they weren't - thank you for confirming i'm not going mad.
Cresswell Mount was on Netherfield Rd South, photo from LRO
& Rock View was in Devonshire place
If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bull

Sorry Robbo, neither of those two buildings were Cresswell Mount. The said building was out of the picture further north, honest.
Sorry Robbo, neither of those two buildings were Cresswell Mount, those two fronted Everton Terrace, can,t think of their names at present, Ged will know them
