Yes I remeber the old windmill at the top end of the boating lake and the small modeling lake. I often wondered what happend to the windmill.
I can also remember the USofA army lads at the main entrance to the park and the anti-aircraft guns in the park. As kids we would go down to the main gate (Tuebrook/West derby road & Shiel road) and ask the soldiers for chewing gum.
Not been to the park for a few years now. (note to self :- must get out more)

Tho. the rec down on the corner of Townsend Ave. and Richard Kelly Drive was a storage place for war equipment, and I do remember them.
