It's a shame so many of the parks have been allowed to decay and be taken over by smackheads.

Newsham Park was my local park along with Shiel Park.
Yes I remeber the old windmill at the top end of the boating lake and the small modeling lake. I often wondered what happend to the windmill.
I can also remember the USofA army lads at the main entrance to the park and the anti-aircraft guns in the park. As kids we would go down to the main gate (Tuebrook/West derby road & Shiel road) and ask the soldiers for chewing gum.
Not been to the park for a few years now. (note to self :- must get out more)
