Pubs of Liverpool and Merseyside

Marathon drinking session, Ged? Bet you were on shandy again.
Out with Pablo yesterday - The Grapes, Flanagans, The White Star, Rigbys. Only 6 hours but my back teeth were afloat!

Only 3 shandies when i'm driving. Guinness galore this festive season. Does 2 jobs in one, no need to eat.

Amazing little map there, Ged! While I'm at it....can you name this former pub on the corner of Bankhall st? I go past it most days, but the other week I had a closer look,and realised that the window frames(?) are cast-iron,which I think is unusual,and wondered if there was any connection with other cast-iron framed buildings in Liverpool?? Also, the second pub,which is on Millers bridge/Derby lane,now a cafe!

Hi Steve. Both on my site in their 1980s guises.

The first one was the Griffin which later became the Twist and Shout, used to drink there too, it had a red phone box in there too. The second was the Prince of Wales but I drank in it in the 90s when it was called Shenanagans - then down to the old Dockers Hook (now Kerrys but closed) to see the big dipper.
