REMEMBER CLAYTON SQUARE LIKE THIS?

What I cant get my head round is the fact, that I used to wait for the bus in Clayton Square when I was a kid, but now, how come there seems to be 2 levels? I mean all those steps to go up and down, I dont remember Clayton Square being on such an incline.?????

I noticed that too. I don't ever recall the hill being that steep ! A few people have commented on this.
