    Nice photo, Joe. Here's my pic of the same, taken when I was in Liverpool in May 2007.





    Per Joseph Sharples in the Pevsner Architectural Guides series on Liverpool, p. 154, the building is the former Venice Chambers built in 1882 by Edmund Kirby, with architectural details mimicking the Doge's Palace in Venice.
