Nicholas Charles Williams' large scale triptych 'Desideratum' will be exhibited at Liverpool Cathedral from 2 Jan 2008 to 1 Feb 2008.
The artwork which is created across three panels will mark the opening of Liverpool's 'European Capital of Culture 2008' in the Derby transept of the Anglican cathedral.
The artwork is on display until 1 Feb 08
Williams' work reflects the resurgence in figurative paintings by modern artists and he has earned a reputation as one of Britain's foremost realist painters.
His work addresses aspects of human behaviour, its drives and forces, conveyed through direct observational painting and underpinned with symbolism.
The exhibition will form part of the international programme of events at the Cathedral of classical concerts and exhibitions including new work by Craigie Aitchison and Tracey Emin.
