Date Stones and signs around Liverpool

Original 1847 date stone from Holy Trinity Church Walton Breck and new 2008 one in the same style for the crypt renovation project. Unfortunately the 2008 date stone has the AD in the wrong place. It should of course have been AD 2008

By the way, did you know that this was "Square Deals" motorcycle accessories shop in the 60s and obviously converted back into a house.
Just up the road was Bill Smiths old motorcycle shop.
These old long gone shops might make an interesting thread to start .. get your thinking caps on lads .... Taffy Davis on Smithdown road near the station is a starter for ten .... take the challenge

Here's a couple of photographs of me at Tuebrook House getting a photograph of the 1615 date stone above the door, pics courtesy of Gerard. Unfortunately my close-up did not turn out so maybe someone else could get it.

Have just had a look through this thread and couldn't find the pic you mentioned chris so took this this morning.

I've never heard of this place? "The Brook House" presumably after the Tue-brook? 1615 predates the Old Dock by 100 years - Wow!

daz, the Gothic Lettering may be confusing you. It actually says "Tue Brook House" not "The Brook House". It is in West Derby Road.

Hi Chris/Daz, The cottage is actually in Mill Bank, that's the road running from West Derby Road up to Queens Drive.

For what it's worth, on early maps the name is given as "Tew Brook." Liverpool museums - What's in a name: Tuebrook
