I'm not very observant at all!
I walked into the forecourt of the Abattoir to take a photo of that place, and then took a photo of the Old Stanley over the road, and didn't even notice the 'new' Stanley!
I then walked past the church and thought there were too many trees in the way to take a photo, and then I did Cheadle Avenue.

We're supposed to be the Capital of Culture next year, and the first thing that people will see when they leave Lime Street Station is this building with one cheap coat of black emulsion and a sign written by illiterates.
Is this the first impression of Liverpool we want to give to visitors?
I've lost all confidence in Liverpool City Council.

I agree. This shouldn't have been allowed to open. There should be some sort of 'safe zone' around Lime Street to stop things like this cropping up.

Great first impression isn't it? - illiterate alcoholics.

Default Dickie Lewis's/The Crown, East Lancs Road.

    Interesting Art-Deco details.

Too high up to be identified by passers-by.
I wonder if it was some sort of in-joke about 'drinking like fishes'.

    Default Halton Castle, West Derby

Interesting old pub but I can't say I think too much of its two tone exterior paint job. Perhaps that's as far as the ladder would reach.

    Default Skelhorne Street.

Here's a reminder of what the building used to look like, when it was supposed to be a "Grot-spot".
Couldn't they see that the signage was the only distinctive thing about the building?

    Default The Stanley, Prescot Road.

    Next to the Abattoir.
It's not surprising I didn't notice it when I was there the other week.

I just noticed that the Aigburth Arms pub has changed its name to "Victoria". Anybody know why? It is in Victoria Road of course but I don't think that is sufficient reason

The Red Dwarf society are going to be slightly annoyed

    From Wiki:

An orphan, he was discovered as a very young infant on November 26, 2155, under a pool table in a Liverpool pub (the Aigburth Arms), nestled in a cardboard box with the mysterious word "ouroboros" scribbled on the side.

GingerTheCat, plenty of time to change the name of the pub back to the "Aigburth Arms" before November 26, 2155!!!!

The Lamb has partially collapsed this morning, shame as it's a great old building.
