At Least Ten Things You Didn't Know About Kensington

It's great to see the Kensington Picturedrome on it.
With all the publicity being given to the Bedford cinema in Walton, it goes unnoticed that the Kenny probably opened two days before the Bedford, and was probably the first purpose-built cinema in Liverpool.
The Kensington opened by invitation only on 24 December 1910 and to the public on the 26th.
The opening day of the Bedford isn't known, but they were both licensed at the same time.

I see my photo of the Casino cinema and Ice Rink is there, but I can't remember you asking for permission!

The text hadnt been proof read well spotted, although maybe Stephen's Rocket was a Freudian allusion to my large knob...... didnt know Crown Street was first so I'll amend that (I think edge hill had the first waiting room in the world though doesnt sound as good though)

Greater Kensington includes wavertree road edgehill basically all the L7 area (new deal area) but omits all the L6 streets which are generally regarded as kensington, I live 6 inches outside of "Kensington"......but in kensington....

Kenny Fields is part of Central Ward and wavertree road end is Picton ward so kensington has 9 councillors covering the area. two more and we can have a footbal team, "Kensington United" maybe not.
