LAW055 - Shaw's Brow (now William Brow Street)N.side of Shaw's Brow showing the kiln of Pennington's Pottery (standing behind Shaw's Brow above Livesley Place). Shaw's Brow was a centre of the pottery industry in Liverpool. 1860.
LAW056 - Dale Street. South side from Hotham Street to St Vincent Street - South side from Crosshall Street to Sir Thomas's Buildings (site of Municipal Buildings) showing shops, pub, etc. 1867.
LAW057 - Prescot Street (S side looking to Kensington). Shows 'Old Red Lion Inn' with a boy with basket on his head - obviously selling. Ladies and gentlemen in background. 1859.

Upper Dawson Street opened out on to the Poultry market, at the side of St John's Market off Market Street. IOW's the lady standing on the corner in the illustration is standing in the same place as the lady in the photo. The views however look in different directions.

Sweeting Street, Liverpool, UK. This cobbled alley off Dale Street, once known as 'Elbow Lane', featured in a Hovis TV advert in 2008.

WG Herdman lived at west Villa 41 St Domingo Vale & his daughters lived at no.21........last week when I went past they were demolishing most of the houses
this painting was done by James Innes Herdman from his fathers home ....in the background is Everton Water Tower
