If you look at the Liverpool bands that had links with Erics.WAH, Ellery Bop, OMD, Big in Japan featuring Holly Johnson, Ian Brodie (The Lighting Seeds) Bunnymen, Teardrops, Dad or Alive, the list could go on.
The White Star isn't in Matthew St. the address is in Button St.
