    Riverside flats in great demand

MORE than £1m worth of flats

have been sold in a month for Liverpool's latest riverside apartments block.

Construction on the 27-storey Alexandra Tower is set to be complete by

    May 2008.

But sales have been going strong and property expert Knight Frank's Liverpool office said demand for homes at the 201-apartment development

on Princes Dock shows the strength of the market for waterfront

    living.

All the thanks should go to my Canny Farm

mate who got me up there. BTW if anyone is in the slightest bit related to Canny Farm, get down to the Sandon Pub on Saturday. There's a big get together in

the back room which is basically owned by them. I've made my excuses. **** that! They've been known to disappear for a couple of weeks after a meet up.

Living daaaarn Sarf! has softened me.

    Excellent photos Dave - I

especially like the last one, quite a unique view, that. The north docks seem to look so different from up there!

    Splendid pictures, Dave. I have

pictures of that dock to put up, but just haven't had the time.

Thanks Dave, looking forward to them. When did you get up there? Lying Canny Farm tw*t

told me I was the first photographerbore up there. Ditto Baltic Triangle. I'll have to have a word with him next week

    The new Amsterdam at Liverpool?
Save Liverpool Docks and Waterways - Click

Deprived of its unique dockland waters Liverpool
becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the
tourist. Would we visit a modernised Venice of filled in
canals to view its modern museum describing
    how it once was?

The original spec NWS was original didn't you think?

Just had my head in a new town-planning book showcasing the evolving port cities of the world. It's quite inspiring. I'll get the title of it for you. We get a footnote.

You get a good view of the old railway lines that went to Riverside Station in this one...

Kev, I think there was once a travelling crane there on the end of the landing stage, and that hut was probably to do with it, or with other equipment on the landing stage.

I've posted these before in the exploration section, but they're interesting nonetheless... this is the old tunnel that lead from the Prince's Half Tide dockside into the landing stage lower level, I assume for maintenance/loading? The tunnel has since been backfilled and the tower block built on top of it.

Needless to say, I didn't try walking out across the boards!!
