Hi,
Bold St Had wooden sets, they said it was to stop the upper classes
being disturbed by the horses clattering down the Street, I know they where there in 1952 as I came off my James 197 Captain in the rain and I was spinning in middle of the St trying to get old of the throttle as it was set to fast tick over, and nobody could help incase they got cought up in the rear wheel.
I remember it well, as the song goe's.

cheer's,

Tippo.
