Thanks Kevin, the midden is on the site already is it not? - Should be
Post it up anyway if you like, with you leaning on the bar, keeping it up.
The Midden, Rydal St, Anfield.
Ah Kevin, I remember it now, a nice looking pub hidden up Rydal St off Breck Road. It's halfway down this here page on my site:

Thanks for posting it though.
Bu55er, thought I'd finally found one you didn't have.
Met the owner, who is a mate of the Stoke fan I was with. We'd both noticed that the lounge had 'The News Room' engraved in the glass in the door. The owner didn't know the significance of this - perhaps someone on the site does?
I'm beginning to get worried after seeing so many pics of pubs that
have either gone or are going, especially after that shock concerning the
Melrose. I've now managed to see photos of the Medlock and the Orwell but they both look as though they were taken a while ago - and I'd like to be
assured they're still with us and still performing the function they were built for. I have followed through the whole of this thread (and very absorbing it was too) but nothing's come up concerning these two pubs. Can anybody
confirm that they're still with us, and more importantly, still pubs? Many
thanks,
Stan H.
A picture of the 'Park' in West Derby Road with the 'Clifton' at the far end of the side street. (two for the price of one)
The Medlock is still with us as a pub though the Orwell (Banks') is closed.
The Lambeth, Phoenix, Easby are closed - the Sessions and the Kendal Castle demolished.
Good news about one of my old city centre watering holes from the 80s and 90s - The Vernon Arms on Dale street was getting a steam clean yesterday and set to re-open in two weeks time.

The Vernon's steam clean on sunday as mentioned earlier - imageshack not working so thumbnail only using manage attachments on here.
A LEGENDARY pub which once hosted infamous after-hours council meetings will soon reopen.
Dale Street?s Vernon Arms closed in 2004 and fell derelict.
New landlord Jimmy Monaghan now hopes he and his family can breathe life into the much-missed boozer.
In its mid-1980s heyday, it was dubbed Liverpool?s ?politburo?.
Militant Tendency stalwart Derek Hatton frequented the watering hole before going to meetings in the municipal buildings and annexe on the other side of Dale Street.
He told the ECHO: ?More decisions were taken there than were ever taken in the chamber.
?I have got wonderful memories of the place. You met before meetings and after meetings.
?They used to have ?stay behinds?, when they locked the doors and people would finish their drinks.
?You had more problem getting out then in.? more
