Is that a garage next to Lennon's? I seem to recall it was owned by the MP for Garton - who lived in the same road as me: Caldwell Road.



Years later I sailed with a guy who had been that MP's campaign manager. He'd been sailing yachts for years and was getting some sea time in before taking a yacht out to the West Indies. He must have been in his early 50s and it was his first trip as 3rd mate. He spent a few trips with us out in the West Indies then left to start up his yachting business again. Always thought we might bump into him on future trips but we never did.

Just done a search and don't recognise any MP names for Garston as being the bloke from our road. Think my memory is playing tricks and he stood for MP but didn't win the election.
