McCartney concert

I went too - Macca did us proud. Culture Company made a mess of getting everyone in - the queues stretched for streets and some didn't get in in time for start of Zutons set. The police were pissed off - they said it was not their idea not to open all the turnstiles and put everyone in one queue. I think they gave up searching everyone eventually because suddenly, we all got it. Every fortnight, LFC manage to get a much bigger crowd in no hassle.
But soon forgot that with Macca's brilliant set and the great party atmosphere.

I felt sorry for the Kaiser Chiefs & The Zutons. It came across on TV as if the lead singers were getting angry with the crowd for not cheering, singing along, dancing etc...
The crowd did seem a bit bored and most weren't joining in.
They only really became more animated and louder as it got darker and when McCartney came on.
It was obviously a different experience for the people at the event, but this is how I felt it came across on TV.

The concert was amazing. I don't like the Zutons but to give them credit they were good live (I think people would have been more receptive if they didn't sl4g Liverpool off so much). The Kaiser Cheifs were amazing. Me and my GF were both dancing away like fools. The Mexican wave was a sight to behold. And Macca's instalment was legendary.

Just got in from the show... all I can say is, I was blown away. Looking at it on the TV, it looked packed, sold out, jumpin' and rockin'.

I had an amazing time, and I feel justifiably proud of the Scousers who attended, and the welcome they all gave to the visitors who managed to get tickets.

A thoroughly good night for the city, I feel.

Oh why didn't I just buy a ticket and get my butt over there!!! Sounds like you had an amazing time - very lucky indeed.

the fireworks at the end were terrific - - our house was shuddering with the booms we stood out on the step to watch them.

we heard them in Bootle! thought it was thunder. it was only when one of my step-daughters mentioned the fireworks today I realised what it was.

I've taped the concert so will catch up on it tomoz when I've got plenty of time to enjoy it.

Pleased it was a success. Just wish I'd have had the money to enter the draw for tickets.

Thankfully McCartney took the running of the show out of local hands and used his own production company so sparing our city further embarrassment. Well done Macca!

We are gutted that we didn't make the effort to go to the concert, especially as it was almost on our doorstep ! but I'm afraid the ticket prices were too expensive for 3 of us to go - it would have been near £200 !! It was £75 for adults and £55 for kids.
My backache wouldn't have endured 4 hours of standing up in those crowds either !! (yes I must be getting old !! )
I do feel a pang that we should have gone to see Macca while there was an opportunity, and maybe we would have done only for the cost.
Watching all those people who were there I can only assume they must have used their credit cards to afford those ticket prices
A few of my friends and neighbours had a grumble about not being able to afford to go.
It is often the same with concerts and theatre productions - I know people would love to see these shows - but they are often out of reach to the average person who just cannot afford it



That's my moan for today.

I think though for an artist of that magnitude, a living legend, not forgetting 2 current chart toppers on the same bill - so all in all a 5/6 hour spectacular and as you say, possibly a one off, that price is about right, some may even say a bargain.
