That is a cracker mate. I love the mood of the black and white photos. Thanks for sharing it with us.
The sailor would not be polishing bells in that light. Unless he had been a 'bad lad.'

My dad used to take me to see an 'Empress' boat at the Pier Head in the 60s. I'm not sure if it was the Empress of England or the Empress of Canada. Anybody know which one it was likely to be?
Could have been either of these,Canada,England or Britain.
The Empress of Britain had a chequered career having at least 6 name changes
Queen Anna Marie,
Carnivale,
Fiesta Marina,
Olympic,
Topaz
and the last I heard in 2003 the Peace Boat, see below

The new Amsterdam at Liverpool?

Deprived of its unique dockland waters Liverpool
becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the
tourist. Would we visit a modernised Venice of filled in
canals to view its modern museum describing
how it once was?

They're good pics, gregsdad. How they illustrate the way the docks have altered.
I particularly like the shot of the 'Britain. So clear and has transferred well. The last time I saw a cluster over the side was when we were waiting to go through the Panama and was trying to catch Garfish on a meat hook
Thanks mate,
oddsocks.
