    My dad used to take me to see an 'Empress' boat at the Pier Head in the 60s. I'm not sure if it was the Empress of England or the Empress of Canada. Anybody know which one it was likely to be?

    Could have been either of these,Canada,England or Britain.
    The Empress of Britain had a chequered career having at least 6 name changes
    Queen Anna Marie,
    Carnivale,
    Fiesta Marina,
    Olympic,
    Topaz
    and the last I heard in 2003 the Peace Boat,see below

    They're good pics, gregsdad. How they illustrate the way the docks have altered.

    I particularly like the shot of the 'Britain. So clear and has transferred well. The last time I saw a cluster over the side was when we were waiting to go through the Panama and was trying to catch Garfish on a meat hook

    They are locks at Sandon Dock Bramley Moore Dock is the next dock down and Nelson after that. The locks are here to the bottom left.
