Hi, I'm looking up streets in the West Derby area where some of my ancestors lived, does anyone know where about Mount Vernon View was (or if it is still there)?? All I know is that it was in the Civic Parish of West Derby.

Mount Vernon View was off Mount Vernon Road (now in the Edge Hill district)
Map below shows it in the centre.

Here's an old 1935 photo of Mount Vernon View. Not sure of the view but it was one of the many Liverpool courts
Thanks for the information, really appreciated. Will have to have a drive around Edgehill.

Just checked a photo of that area and you're right!
I wonder if the barrier is there with permission or it is still a 'public road'?

Thanks for your enquiry. More correctly of course, as you realise by now, this is Edge Hill not West Derby... what you mean is the neighbourhood was part of the civil administrative district of West Derby whose historical roots go back to the Domesday Book and West Derby hundred.
I am pleased that our knowledgeable membership were able to help you, Mango!
