    Here's a mix of photos from the MTT archives.

    Copyright may be Lpool transport or MPTE nothing shown on photos.

    Blackened St Georges Hall in background
    circa 1954 Mix of Leyland AEC and Daimler buses

    Pic4 William Brown St.
    Adverts for Mackeson Pepsi Typhoo Vernons
    Concrete/galvanised sheet bus shelter
    Remember the tall street lights around the tunnel

    Any ideas of location ? I think Scotland rd inward past Cazneau st?

    Pic 5: The building in the centre, with the chequered brickwork, looks like the Crown Vaults pub, but someone who knows the area better may confirm.

    Edit: I checked the Crown Vaults pub and it does have similar brick-work, but is in the wrong position (just off Scotland Road).
    The building at the far right of your picture looks quite distinctive.

    You beat me to it Mand. For years thereafter stood a sign saying the site of the Goat's Head, as like the Rotunda, it was used as a landmark even though it was no longer there.
