Alehouse Aspinall.
I was out in Bolton with Brian (Captain Kong) last night. A great time and many a tale was told, and the odd pint supped.
Aches and pains after his recent spell in hospital but he was on fine form.

Good to see you again, Kevin,
This is the first pub we went in, one of the oldest in Britain, `Ye Olde Man and Scythe`, built in 1251 and refurbished in 1636. The Earl of Derby from Liverpool spent his last night in there then dragged out and had his head removed on the scaffold during the civil war in 1651.
some of the tarts in there looked as if they did the rebuilding. The screams out of them drove us out to a less raucus pub, the `Barrister`. named after one of Kevin`s Harrison boats.
Real Ale was only £1.50 a pint and good too. It was a good end to my 75th Birthday.
Cheers,
Brian.

That look like a real "character pub", I was in Nantwich last week and stopped for a meal in a pub called The Globe, cant say anything about "the ale" but OH enjoyed a nice pint, and the food was wonderful !!

Brian,
It'll still be there - you need an IT technician to recover it for you.

Glad to hear you're on the mend Brian.
Sorry to hear you've mislaid your tales. Try typing winword in the RUN command, if you haven't accidentally deleted the program, MS Word should appear.
START > RUN > WINWORD > OK

"One hand for yourself, and one for your walking stick." Old seafaring adage.
Hope you'll soon be well enough to deep six it, Cap'n. A few more perfect afternoons like you two enjoyed, and you'll be returned to duty in no time at all. Lovely looking old pub.

Don't think he was rebuilt quite that long ago, but it's near enough!
