Have you had any luck with tracking down any pics?
I have left you a message, some where else on the site, but dont ask me where)
We lived at No 21. I have found the street sign but no luck with photos.
How are all the Byrnes clan?
I suppose you dont know the whereabouts of Veronica your cousin. Would love to get in touch with her.
I will check this place out next time i'm in the LRO.
Your welcome.
Seems to be a popular place
Someone rerquesting it on the Scottie press too:

Hello
Has anyone ever heard of a street or place called Hodges Mound? It is in the 1891 census for the Turnbull family, and it's in Toxteth Park. St. Silas ecclesiastcal parish.
Thanks
Marg.

Re: Hodges Mound Toxteth Honor
Hi Marg
There is a Hodges Mount between North Hill Street and Chipping Street, it is in the Edwardian Directory for Liverpool South by Paul Bolger. I do not know whether it still exists.

Yes I heard about Patricia, as Irene my sister still lives in the area (Dovey) Street.
I thought you may have been Colum as he was on the Friendsreunited site. You were in the same class as me (Christine Nee Lacy), sister of Tony that used to make bikes and go carts and hire them out ohhh.
The the last time I heard, Veronica was married, living in St Helens.
As I say we lived in No 21 (Lacy's).
Anyways Gerard, if you do come across any photos, let me know and I will do the same for you.
PS
A Tony Oakley who used to be in our class too, emailed me the other week on Friendsreunited, and was saying he would like to hear from other class mates (just in case your interested).
Stay happy
Christine![]()

Was in the LRO yesterday morning, sadly no photos of it exist there.
Ello
Chipping St is still there. It is within the school boundry and has not been grassed over, you can see the cobbles. You can see it from the back of Our Lady Mount Carmel Social Club.
You may be interested to know, that the huge tree that was in Our lady of Mount Carmel Playground is still there. The street signs for some of the streets that were knocked down are at the back of the club too (inlcuding Hodges Mount).
I have a Kellys Directory for 1966 I list below the house numbers and the people who were listed as living there:
From Letitia Street right side:
No 2 Mrs M Gargan
(Our Lady of Mount Carmel),
6 & 8 Hone G & Sons mechanical enineers
Bouverie Street
Admiral St
Left Side
Hodges Mount
Carlton Hill
Alder Street
No 7 Dennett harold
9 Collins J
Any luck with any photos? I've been searching for what seems like forever! And I'm not getting anywhere. Shirley Valentine is my Aunt, Tony is my father.I was lucky enough to see the street signs of Hodges Mount at my Grandfather's funeral in 2006. Shame I never took my camera. I do have a communion to go to in June at Mount Carmel so I will ask if I can go out and take some snaps.
Would love to see what the old place looked like as I've heard so much about it. Hope its ok to bring up an old post.![]()
suprise your dad when you tell him you knowhe was known as Corny oasis
Haha Essex I did hear that from my aunts! He is still terrible for telling jokes and laughing at them as well! Sadly its rubbed off on me as well! :-)
