the good news is,the Heritage Lottery Fund awarded £3:7 million for it's restoration,in January ! I dont know much about the "Florrie", except it's held dear by the many people who went through it's doors!

It would be nice as a 'visitor attraction' the water works, real history. I asked United Utilities some time ago, and they were't really interested. The Everton water tower would be interesting to see as well.

Caulfields shop? wasn't that opposite Garston Hospital? (Pet shop) I used to deliver dog food there. Caulfields also had a haulage business,
all the wagons were an unusual shape (rounded roof)

I think this is the Caulfields shop you mention Smudger! corner of James St & Chapel St. Empire Cinema on left. sorry pic isn't too good, taken about 1954. Also the Red Lion Pub at right of photo, now demolished I believe.
I have been up on that reservoir. That is Mt. Carmel school playground next to it and our balls used to end up there so once in a while they let us go up and collect the balls, very exciting.Quote:
