Dear Our man on the spot, you got it spot on there mate. I think that is a smashing view of our lovely city from that angle. It,s like the waterfront only it,s from the back. And it has,t got any water in it.
Well done Gerard, and I like those that you put on three days ago. I must have been asleep that day as I,ve only just seen em.
Sorry Phil, I missed out saying that your first two photos were cracker from New Ferry. Where did you say the bloke went who was doing the full monty. Probably doggin, in the doggin, area of that lovely place eh! :ninja:
Thanks again Gerard.. that Scottie Road area is very pretty.. That area looks very posh...(That sky is brill in that photo.. ) I will have to check out on a map where it is located amongest the many streets of Liverpool..:handclap: Is it far from the center ? ta
Hiya n l.
Yeah you could say Scottie rd is posh
The bottom of Leeds st is situated about 300/400 yards from each mersey tunnel.
http://www.vwlowen.co.uk/wirral/roadtun.htm
To the left of the picture (or south) is the Queensway tunnel which is on the edge (1 minute walk) of the City Centre.
The Kingsway tunnel is to the right of Leeds st again about 300 yards further up Scottie Rd.
I think Phil's first shot taken from New Ferry and Gerard's shot of Leeds Street are brilliant. Everytime I look at them I see more in them! :handclap:
Absoloutely wonderful stuff!...Please keep them coming.

What a great pic.
It has to be picture of the year and not just POTD.
Fabulous.
Phredd
Agreed.
It has to be one of the best photos of Liverpool.
Ever.
:handclap::handclap::handclap:
Wowza! Fabulous photography, kebabman! :handclap:
Chris
A magical picture - one you could probably get money for because it's so unexpected.
Agreed, fabulous. Is that another fainter rainbow on the outside of it. Look at the different colour of the sky on the inside of the rainbow.
Yes it is ..When I was taking photo I notice only liverpool end of second rainbow,I couldn't see other end...But at photo we could see both end...
This photo of total of 6 frame and stitched together....with 28 mm lens and being this close made impossoble to take as a one frame...
@baztop3,
When I noticed rainbow I was at shop, straitaway drove to home ,grab my camera and went to Egremont Ferry...When I get there view was fantastic better than I could see it from shop.Noting was blocking view,no building, threes etc...Basicly Full Monty view:)
Hi Ged and kebabman
A double rainbow is a rare phenomenon but such does occur occasionally. See the entry in Wikipedia on "Rainbow" where they show a rare double rainbow in Alaska. About the phenomenon they say, "More rarely, a double rainbow is seen, which includes a second, fainter arc with colours in the opposite order, that is, with violet on the outside and red on the inside."
Chris
Nice one! Great photo.

Here's a picture by Juxtapol on SSC what scouseyuppie has photoshopped, the King Edward tower is the only one which hasn't received planning permission otherwise that's a rough idea of how Liverpool Waterfront will look in 2011.
SY has already posted here:PDT11
Thanks for that link, Kev.
When they do these renders of what the skyline is going to look like in the future, why can't they show the buildings under construction as they will appear when they're finished?
It looks stupid seeing Beetham West with still a lot of cladding to be done, when it's surrounded by bright shiny towers (all nicely finished, I might add).
Not to mention the other buildings under construction.
I suppose it could be said, in the future, that it will help to date the renders!

I know it's the only thing I seem to post pics of but I think this is better than the "dull" one I posted last year and this was taken with my phone too !!!

Sorry if it's the wrong place to put it too, I didn't wanna start a new thread for this.

I got best result at night shots but this time has dirt on lens I think:tear:
smashing photos peeps, like the panoramic view k. :)
Lovely panoramic photograph, unusual angle too, I had to do a double take on some of the buildings.
nice lighting
kat:)
I think photos work out better this evening I took them same time as yesterday around 10 pm but taking photos from King's Wharf is better than by Magazine lane end...I got water reflection this evening...I am happy with result. 5 frames stitched together.
To get blue sky is inline with timing,if you take photos after moon rise sky goes to brown.I didn't know that, learned a few days ago..
