More neglected Georgian housing stock. Heartbreaking
Thanks mate, yea I'd heard a similar story although it was the guys dog that was called Wally. I know that when we all went "abroad," to festivals or gigs then we used to shout it on the train or station or motorway service area to identify and locate if there were any other "heads," around.
Cross Keys, I aint been there since the day I got my long hair cut off in 1976, I walked in with my new crew cut and everyone fell around laughing...including the girl I loved, who promptly copped off with a mate of mine who still had his proud mane, I was heartbroken !! I never went back there. Is the St Pauls still there ? I aint been around that area since the 1970's.
Hi Angus,
either way,dog or man,Wally got his 15 minutes of fame!
As for losing the hair,I lasted till '78,when I was asked to give my sister away,on condition it went! Afterwards,I got told I looked like Noel Edmonds, and promptly went looking for a cut-throat razor:unibrow: Had a look for the St. Paul's,and unfortunately it's gone, with not a trace left,it seems!

Tower buildings one of my favourite buildings, built 1908-1910, one of the first steel framed
buildings
You have still got some good old buildings around Liverpool you must lobby your local M Ps to get them renovated before they strangely catch fire this is what happens to them even when they are listed and then all of a sudden the land is sold of to property developers
Mau-reece
GD, u just found a batch of B&W film ? :)
Just been up Edge Lane and the houses down the right had side (as you go towards town) are mounds of bricks and other debris. Looks very strange.

Heritage market held in the old tobacco warehouse on Regent Road, seems to be shrinking, a couple of years ago there were stalls down this roadway and stalls in both sides of the warehouse. Now only one has stalls and the other is used as a store place.
The former St. Alphonsus school,on Stanley rd,(which used to be the"free" school?) is being demolished, along with the old social security building,a bit further along! Not sure if the former Kirkdale library is going too?
I assume they're gonna be replaced with more houses
Engine House Langton Graving Docks. Liverpool.1882. I don't know when it was demolished.

The long closed bascule bridge, is nearly ready to be re-opened! Just another week or so,to go!
Only a few more day's to go,till the bridge re-opens to traffic! (I know you're all waiting with bated breath!:unibrow:) I noticed the cog holes on the bridge, had been plated over,so I guess there's no intention of operating it,just yet,at least!
Save on my diversions. Great pics.
Boy's own stuff Steve.....great pics. :PDT11
This is a lovely building.
Prudential Assurance Buildings, Dale st.
Here's a couple of pic's from along Regent rd,with some Canada geese making their way from Collingwood dock,to Stanley, rather nervously, due to the traffic passing overhead,on the recently re-opened bridge!
I also spotted a possible method of access used by Georgie t,to get into some of the places he's photo'd recently............boltcutters!!!(only joking, and jealous!:smirk:)

Brill sets of pics. GD. You don't half get about :)
Holts arcade is classic. Part of my shipping round in 1980-82, an honour to see the inside of such buildings like this that you normally wouldn't. Martins bank, Oriel chambers, the Liver, Tower buildings, Cunard, Albion house.
Wonderful photographs as ever, Joe. Fine work. :handclap:
Cheers

Took a walk around the Bullring aka St Andrews Gardens, they look as if they have had another face lift since last time I visited. They look alright for 75 years of age
You know,Sir Thomas White gardens could have had the same work injected into the place, instead of losing some 1000 occupants? and afew measily houses thrown up in its place which amountto about 40 houses that are now a sight for sore eyes..
Great pictures GD :handclap:
Majestic GD. They were just renovated again during the students leave in the summer and ready for the new influx.
George, you're right that many more of these blocks could have been enjoying a new lease of life. What price a city centre apartment these days.
"They do look good, don't they?" Just shows what could have been done with 'most' if not all, of the old tennies!!
