Quite a lot of people forget to look up at the tops of buildings which are sometimes better than the base. I think if you asked people in town where these 4 places were quite a lot couldn`t tell you.

Hole in the Wall pub. The oldest pub in Liverpool which carries the date 1726.

Rigby's also has (or had) the date 1726 on it. The Central Hotel in Ranelagh Street 'carries' the date 1698 (or 1675, or 16 something), but neither they nor the Leather Lane pub are as old as the dates that are on them.Quote:

Yes, Taffy, I know it's suspect.
As is the date on The Hole in the Wall.
Ranelagh Street certainly existed in the early 1700s and probably earlier, as it was the road to Manchester.
