A shot of the Liver Bird on Mersey Chambers that I took in May 2007. Great photographs, Joe and Ged!

Any idea if 239 Westminster rd,used to be anything in particular,Ged,as it's quite a large house, big enough for a pub, even!(though I don't think so!) Also, any pic's of Brunswick gardens further down?
The Top Hat, now there's a blast from the past.does anyone remember The Pacific a cafe on the corner by the Stadium, you went downstairs and they sold curry prawns but not Chinese and not Indian sort of exotic homemade basically it was just prawns and onions with plain rice but it felt very adventurous going down into the windowless basement, another favourite was The Albany again downstairs in Old Hall St smart and a bit pricy but the best corned beef hash and fries. We also used to go to the State for lunch in Dale St as it was subsidised by Littlewoods. Weird then going to a dance there on Saturday night. I suppose it has either been demolished or renovated so it is unrecognisable. It was a bit like a mausoleum inside lots of brown marble and dark wood.
Not sure about No239 Steve. Do you mean Brunswick Square. Here's a pic of it from 1973 on Colin Wilkinson's cracking site.

Thanks Ged,Brunswick square is right! I've seen Colin's pic',but wondered if you had any! It looks like that part of Westminster rd was fairly well to do,at one time, but that was the only "square" I remember seeing, around that part of the city?
And worth the bump too LindyLou :handclap:
I didn't realise Gostins building was that high until I saw GD's photo! :)
I must admit I never looked up. :PDT_Xtremez_42:
I wonder what all those other floors are used for now.
Does anyone know if they are in use ?
Thanks Lindylou, there`s the difference, I can only take pics from outside buildings as I`m only a poor pensioner who can`t afford to shop.
