I think we need to see some maps of the area from 1940 - 45 really.
This would tell us exactly where it is.
My Source, "JMLE", is a well respected pillar of the community, not a Ged Fagan type you know.

Are the maps available with the LRO being shut?
Trouble is that as this was an underground shelter its most likely it was closed over after the bombing. They tended to spread lime over the rubble and seal them up if people died there in case any bodies had been missed.

Surely somewhere in the LRO or Council would have maps of all Air Raid shelters !
I'll ask Harry ( he's not my source by the way ! )
Mart
City Council have passed my email onto someone who they say may be able to help.

I am afraid that I have been unable to trace a map showing the exact position of this shelter, presumably due to security during the war years. You might be able to locate the position on a post war map
Makes sense that it was not put on a map.
talking to an old lady yesterday who says there was a Shelter where THE GREEN is.
BE NICE......................OR ELSE
This is a clip from "Merseyside at War", Kitty Ellis, describes where the shelter was, opposite Broadgreen Hospital, which would ore than likelybe, The Green and mentions her friends, probably the list of names below, from Tony's site
