Due to the recession, one in eight shops now stand empty as recession hits high streets.
If you have managed to capture any of Liverpool's shop/ business fronts boarded up and closed down, post them here!

The biggest killer to high street shop closures was the opening of these retail parks on the outskirts of the city, this prime land could have been used for new housing and then the larger shops in the city centers would have been active all the time.
so true George.
It's been a long recession Duke St today....
There's A great shop front from the 1890/1900 in Dale street ie next to the health food shop...its called PRS(Progressive Radio Spares)

Now that Rapid Hardware has moved to Williamson Square (and good luck to them, onto bigger and better things), there are empty units the whole length of Renshaw Street.
Whilst I'm sorry to see the current state of Renshaw Street, I'm very pleased to see a local business doing the trade it is.
