    Default Hale Street?

In Hale Street, in the city centre, opposite the entrance to the NCP car park is a building, quite grand looking with 1873 embossed into the sandstone. Anyone know what this biulding was/is?

The area you are talking about is, I believe, close to the back of the Magistrates Court on Dale Street, which was previously a police station. Possibly the building you are talking about has something to do with that.
