    Default Help,I need somebody.......

Brothers and sisters, once again I must seek the assistance of our generous geneaologists to'give us a bunk', as it were, over the wall I have encountered in my latest bout of ancestral sleuthing.
Robert Davies b 1878 (Garston ?, but could have possibly been Wales just to make it more confusing) married in 1897 (Garston) Mary Ann Loftus b 1878 (Garston, possibly Irish Parents).
Until I can pinpoint the parentage of this couple, I am once more at full stop.

I will be grateful as always for any help proffered.
    Adieu, mes amis, adieu.

    Hiya Red...we meet again...1881 census
    74 Raglan Street
    Garston
Mary head aged 35 Widow Charwoman
    Elizabeth aged 12
    Margaret Ann aged 10
    John aged 8
Thomas aged 5 ....all born Liverpool....
    Robert aged 3 born Garston
so doesn`t help much for his dad , but at least now you know his mum was Mary...maybe we need to step back a little here , cos looking for a marriage in Liverpool around 1869 for a Davies to a Mary...........oh dear...mission impossible...and if you look for the 1871 census in Liverpool for Mary Davies aged 25 with Elizabeth aged 2 and newly born Mary Ann (if she has been born )...another hard task....genuinely hard research mate...the very best of luck...you`re gonna need it......allan

Sister Dot, it seems that every time I go a-lookin', you come a-helpin', for which I am always grateful.
Thanks for this info, it is yet another piece of 'The Puzzle', which is much easier to follow now thanks to you.
I don't wish to push my luck, but if anything else crops up, I'd be interested to see it.
    Regards, Tom.

Brother Allan, we do indeed meet again, and glad I am to see you,mon frere!
Your comments are sagacious Allan, I think the way forward will probably be to view a copy of the marriage certificate for a definite I.D.
I thank you for the above as I do all my historical helpmates on yo!, and elsewhere.
    Adios y gracias mi amigo.

Interesting!!!! But I gave-up the search with the Davis's in Garston , got too confusing!!! My maternal grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Davies (nee Roberts) grandfather was Edward. I believe all came from North Wales originally but I was unable to get any further back than grandparent!! I wish all those that try "Better Luck"!

So my kiddies may have an adopted antipodean ancestor eh?,who knows old boy, you never can tell.
This may well prove to be a tougher nut to crack than other lines of my research, but if I receive the assistance I have had heretofore,I have great expectations, which is no bad thing brother Norm, no bad thing at all.
    Cheerio old chum,cheerio.
