    Default Lewis Collins

    Lewis Collins (born 27 May 1946 in Birkenhead,

    Merseyside) is a British actor. He is best known for his tough-guy role as Bodie in The Professionals. He was also considered an excellent candidate for the

    role of James Bond in the early 1980's

    In his youth, he was in the merseybeat band The Mojos. He enjoys music, shooting and parachuting, and holds a

    private pilot's licence.

    In the 1970s he enrolled in the British Territorial Army and also tried out for elite commando unit, the Special Air

    Service. Although he passed all the trials, he was turned down because of his high public profile, which was apparently against the SAS' desire for

    anonymity.

    Since 1992 he has been married to schoolteacher Michelle Larrett and they have three sons.
