Rupert Hill ?
I cannot seem to find this road on any old maps, I found a reference on this site to it by someone saying they used to live there but can find little else about it.
Can anyone tell me where it was or if it still exists ? I have old marriage and birth certs from 1890 - 1899 stating address as 42 Rupert Hill Everton and 48 Rupert Hill Everton along with Eastbourne Grove and Eastbourne Street Everton but cannot seem to find them there now.
I assume Rupert Hill must have been a road as well as an area ?
Rupert Hill was a street near the lock-up at the top of Everton Brow. Eastbourne Street is the next street up.
Ref: Liverpool (North) 1906 Godfrey Edition.
Rupert hill was my neck of the woods, it,s part of Everton Park under all that soil now.
My Grandparents lived in Rupert Hill, I remember it being very steep

If only the old Everton Village had survived...it would have been the Hampstead Hill of Liverpool!
