Was that a Council letter? I live just off Garmoyle rd and would love it if this happened. It would massively reduce traffic on Smithdown Rd, which during term time can be an absolute nightmare.

There has been talk of this. I'm not sure if it will be a part of Merseyrail. This line takes the London train, so maybe it will not be. Unless a part of Merseyrail I can't see the point - it becomes another Merseytravel white elephant like South Parkway.
To bring back into commission will be around ?12 to 14 million per station. They should keep all money and concentrate on the city centre getting underground tunnels and a Circle Line up and running ASAP.

A matter of priorities, the underground extensions are paramount.
Another fine building gone from our streets. :PDT_Xtremez_12::PDT_Xtremez_12:

Such a shame to see:PDT_Xtremez_12:
awful. I'm sure someone could've found a use for for a such a good looking building. be interesting to see what - if anything - replaces it.
Passed the back of the Royal Hospital yesterday on my way home. I was shocked to see the JCB's swarming all round this building:

I've never really gone up to the building close or realised that it was now empty - I just hope when I can get down at the weekend, it's not been demolished. Such a sad situation when it's been there since the 1800's.
last man standing
It's been abandoned for ages. A few years ago the middle section of the first story fell down and was substantially rebuilt by the then owner - just in time for the council to buy it and the contractors to move in.
It's part of the Hall Lane Bypass scheme taking the road from Low Hill to Crown Street/Smithdown Lane.
It'll be gone soon then. Unless it already has.
Used to be a Dairy in the building in the 1800's and sad to see it's stood the test of time till now. I just daren't go down there tomorrow with my camera as I'll be gutted if it's been flattened. Just one of those places you wish they could do something with rather than just flatten it for yet more roads.
It's still there Cad... well it was last night.
Usually i'd agree that tarmacing over things is a bad idea but this road is quite important to the area and because the building is so isolated and has a small foorplan I really can't see any use for it other than as a curiosity.
That's just it - there's absolutely no heritage or historical value to keep the property apart from that it has lasted till now so there's no reason to campaign in the slightest. But it's sad that more and more old buildings are going full stop. You would have to laugh if there was a technicality and that they couldn't demolish it and it ended up like that Farm did splitting the M62 in half!
Does anyone know where the Rocket mural has been moved to that was on the side of the buildings near Tunnel Road?
