    Default After the Seaforth fire

a row of shops in Seaforth village looks set to come down after a devastating fire. I went by today to get a photo before it all fell down. amazingly no-one was hurt.
the block is mostly empty so there's a fair chance they'll take most of it down in the long run.

Pulling the whole row down is criminal. All they have to do is build back up the collapsed shop.

    Default 13 March 2008.

    Before the fire.

    It's all worth saving.
That's why I took this photo.

But one shop was already in a very poor condition.
    The second one here.

When I worked for Clarksons on Scotty in the 50's the store on the left was one of their branch shops. The store on the right was Harry Ormeshers photography shop.

No Ged. it was a department store on the flatiron at Cazneau St. and Scotty. I've got a pic of it somewhere I'll look. I drove their furniture van '58-'59.

the whole block is deemed 'unsafe' at the moment the police have the road completely blocked around the shops front and back. even pedestrians not allowed past.

Is it, well i've got another somewhere at home from the scottie side, i'll have a look for it. I'm pretty sure you can see down Scottie on one side and down Cazneau st on the other because of the flat iron position.
