Thread: Liverpool Museum

    Default Liverpool Museum

Now that the final old sections of the Museum are being renovated;does anyone have any photographs of the interior of the old Museum?

I wouldn't mind seeing the the transport section that used to be in the basement.
That was always my favourite bit when I was a kid along with the aquariums.

I believe there are plans to resurrect it within the new Museum of Liverpool life at Mann Island which is currently being built, however 90 odd per cent of the large objects will still be in store in the Juniper street warehouse facility. I didn't get a chance to look for the photies last night.

Ah, that's just because we're not kids anymore and we're all growed up I bet todays kiddie winkles will like the new place just like we liked the old one. I did like the old transport museum in the basement though, seemed very claustrophobic with that low ceiling and tall rail carriages, John Masons removal wagon, Fire engine etc.

My son went to the New Slavery museum last week. He said it is fantastic.

Must get to see it soon.

I would like to see a museum in Liverpool dedicated to the bravery of all those who have fought in two world wars and how Liverpool was pivotal in this.

However, it is unlikely to happen as its not fashionable in the current PC climate

    Ged's still looking.
I've got an ancient postcard, but the museum was bombed in the war, so I don't think it will be very relevant.

That would still be interesting to see Phillip, perhaps in one of the history threads.

OK, Shy, but I'm off out now.
I heard there's more fireworks tonight.

That's what comes of listening to the TV and not watching it!
The fireworks were at Blackpool (might go there next Friday).
I had Woodside to myself, apart from a couple and their dog.
    Took lots of photos.
