hi ,just came across this thread while looking for any websites on 70's liverpool nightclubs
my first night out was with my cousin who was slightly older he used to go to the victoriana,
time & place ,babalou,mardi......the early 70's my "second home" was the babalou ....met many good
friends...my best mate billy p..sadly gone (r.i.p)........became good mates with alot
    of dj's
derek dolman "big al "al stewart neil peters , ,one of my girlfriends
at the time joyce worked on the cloakroom lenny macmillan (later of macmillians)was general manager
of the babalou & beachcomber......we all started to go the beachcomber...brian was the manager ,....
"big frank" was on the door, jessie ireland was always on the front desk ...for most of the time
mike davo (mike davison) was dj ..played all the best soul music ,became a good mate ,we often go
over to the timepiece to see les spaine ..who we got to know well...and later when he went to motown
we would go to london and see him when we would do the round of record companies for white label
(pre release) records....mike started dj 'ing in hollywood's when it opened so we all went there in the
late 70's......as was rightly said shazam (richie)was on the door ....knew richie well ,years before was on
the top rank ....seen him in liverpool just this week, looked well.
on the timepiece.. think i'm right in saying jake & hilton done the door for a while, also L8 connection
played a number of times, known charlie seeley for years . worked with my brother ,donald jones
went to school with,& edwin dove...there stillaround.......think thats enough for now see if the old grey
    matter can remember anymore.

Yeah, I remember Big Frank you mentioned, also brothers Jake & Hilton, L8 Connection - Charlie and the others. I didn't know Edwin Dove peronally, but know of him and his sister.

I had my Hen Party at the Wooky Hollow, we watched the show, had chicken in a basket and a dance around our handbags. Good time had by all.

Tommy had his Stag do at the Banyan Tree bar under the Adelphi Hotel.
