A similar thing happened with the 'Queens rd estate' Breck rd.
It has changed 3 times in my life time. It was originally Victorian houses which were swept away to make way for a new estate, the design based on a Swedish village (Ha!!) - - the 'Swedish village' quickly became neglected and run down, and gaining a bad reputation with anti-social behavior. (like the 'Cornish village' which was built over on Everton rd side .. you have to smile at the ideas they come up with !! Cornish fishing village . ha,ha ) Next, in recent years, the estate had a make-over and is presently looking ok.

Why though, has money been spent on refurbishing some areas - not once, but 2 and 3 times - and yet others are totally overlooked and left to rot -ie, Oakfield rd,Townsend lane areas of Anfield - two important main roads and yet left to crumble.
