    Default Park Chapel, Toxteth

Does anyone have any information about this chapel which was sited on the corner of Mill Street and Park Street. I think the building was once a billiard hall but I'm more interested in its use as a chapel. I believe one of the ministers there was Pastor Coulston. Any information about him would be most helpful

Thanks. I don't recall seeing info about the Chapel on toxteth.net. The period I'm interested in will be post WW2. I'm not sure when Pastor Coulston died, probably 1960s/1970s.

Thanks for the interest. The old Park Palace is next door up the hill but the Domestic Mission was further up the hill. The Park Chapel was an Evangelical Church. The Domestic Mission had its origins amongst the Unitarians.

    Hi Taffy,
you were right, can't see it on the archived toxteth stuff, though there are many churches, missions, etc listed by name only! Maybe it's there under a different name? Have a look yourself, on the link below.
    Thanks Steve.

Thumbs up Building - Park Street/Mill Street.

    Alright Taffy,
Wasn't that building originally a Liverpool Co-op shop? The Domestic Mission was by Harlow Street, a corrugated tin shed like an overgrown wartime 'anderson shelter' painted green.

It was the co-op. It had proper full windows and a large wooden counter. A wonderful shop. The Do-Mezzie was further up on the left along Mill St towards Dingle.
