What a great place, found it by accident a couple of years ago on a trip to Liverpool. So tranquil, with nice interesting walks. Great photos!

Taffy, I will be in touch soon.

If you head past John Lennon airport, through Hale Village towards Widnes it's signposted on the left.

Been there loads of times. Lots of wildlife to see, lovely walks and good views across the river.

If you walk far enough along the river, you'll end up in Kev's back garden LOL!!

I also like Spike Island at Widnes, just under the Runcorn Bridge, it's very much like Halebank.

    Good call Ged.

I learnt to canoe there. Dunno how much chemical sh*te was in the water though....could explain a few things....

The Stone Roses played there in '89, the weed cloud rivalled anything the town had produced in its chemical heyday!!

Directions leaving Hale...If you're on a bicycle/on foot then do a right at the water-treatment plant (Hale Gate Road entrance) and get onto the cycle track/path.
I used to cycle this route to get under Runcorn-Widnes bridge. In 2004 I walked from Hunts Cross Station to the bridge via Oglet/Hale/Pickerings Pasture. I've put a few pics on flickr and a couple show Pickerings Pasture.
