Now what is the purpose of that structure on the tower?

Such a shame to see it like this,I can remember when it was still in use,in the early 70's! Hopefully, any plans for it's future will soon be realised?

I hope so, even if they only retain the frontage. The cemetary could be turned into a quite park for students to study in.

It's for weather protection. I have some pix of the inside, but I can't find them right now. There isn't much to see though, even the floor has gone.

That's great news! I remember the church when it was still in use,in the early 70's,and have watched it's gradual deterioration, since!

No! - I think the Council are handing it over for £1 after spending two hundred and fifty grand on it.
