Thread: Boddington's Brewery

    Default Boddington's Brewery

I've just been re-doing a few pages on my website, including the one for Boddington's Brewery. Apparently demolition work has started now, and the future of the chimney is in doubt. A big shame really as it's quite iconic.

Anyway, these pictures are just over a year old, but were taken soon after the brewery closed. More here.

No - security there could be easily seen from in the building. Plus when we were in there a van pulled up inside the site, so we knew there were guards about. If you get caught with just one small thing, like a beer mat, you can be done for theft. Too big a risk I'm afraid! Used to take hundreds from pubs though, back when me and my brother used to collect them...

It would be a shame if something as iconic as that chimney was demolished

Pity what's happened to it, just thankfull that the brewery THEY took over still exists in Stanhope St.

The Cains one seems to be going strong. The brewery tour is well worth it if you get a chance...

I've noticed the demise of Boddies each time I go to the M.E.N., even their little nearby pub closed down which was handy for the arena.

Done it twice, and I breathe in the fumes every day when I cycle past it coming home from work

The 2nd time I went there, one of my mates went along though he's a teetotaller so he gave me his free drinks vouchers at the end of it

I thought it was common knowledge? Boddington's was always brewed in Manchester.

Should everything to do with Manchester be specifically marked to say so? Is there a problem with it being in Manchester? Without manufacturing towns like Manchester, Leeds and Huddersfield there would never have been the rapid expansion here in Liverpool.

I was kidding really since were supposed to have a rivalry with Manchester.

I like the architecture of the building looking at yo pics anyway.
