Hellewell's were "Wholesale and export water-proofers, india rubber and gutta percha merchants and manufacturers, dealers in elastic materials and every description of goods made from these products." (Source: 1936 Gores.)
The Quadrant in Lime Street was the corner of Eliot Street where the Chinese Restaurant is, and was called Hellewell's corner.
Their premises in Castle Street were on the corner of Harrngton Street
Both now demolished.
Thanks for the info PhilipG, have you any idea of the years they were working, so i have an idea of when to look.
Thanks

I don't know how far back they went.
You could try older street directories in the Record Office, and they might be listed in the Card Index in the Search Room.
Hellewell's Building in Castle Street was mid 19th century, but I don't know if it was built for them.

Came across this post that mentions Hellewells (mid C19th):

Hi drone_pilot, Philip, Howie, et al
Thanks for the pics of the token, drone. You might be interested to know that I had a copy of the selfsame token but unfortunately had to sell it when I sold the bulk of my coin collection to pay the taxman some years ago.It is nice when a bit of history can still be obtained though at an affordable price! I was also interested in the exact nature of the firm since the legend "cortex waterproof" appears to open up all sorts of possibilities. So I am glad to learn this additional information about the firm and about where they were located. Thanks, Howie and Philip.
All the best
Chris
