Fine photographs, Kebabman, once again. And thank you to PhilipG and TonyS for the pics of Tranmere Old Hall and the Coffee House in High Park (Toxteth), and the information about Tranmere Old Hall.

Thank you, TonyS.
That's a bit spooky, because my name is Mayer!
(It's quite rare in Merseyside.)
What does the caption for the High Park Coffee House say?
It looks like the Peacock to me, which wasn't the Coffee House, but was almost next door.
It's always been confusing to sort out the old pubs of Park Road, because the original Pineapple was also called (by mistake?) the Coffee House.
Thanks, Tony.
Did you type all that out for me?
It's much appreciated.
It's apparent the writer didn't know much about the Peacock.
I'm inclining towards the belief that the High Park Coffee House was the other pub (the High Park) seen on the map.
The licensees for years had the same name as that Keeper of the Park that was mentioned (Ellis, I think, but I'll have to check my notes).
I'm not sure if I've seen the Baines view.

Children and animals!
It's a losing game trying to compete.
Congratulations, anyway.
Here's where the little dears go.

You can always count on Americans to do the right thing - after they've tried everything else.

Kebabman.
More great photos. Well done!
Your shop's getting more and more like an art gallery mate. The photos look fantastic as large prints.
Keep up the good work mate.

A few views from Wallasey and Birkenhead...
Deveraux Drive, Somerville This leads up to Central Park from Poulton Road with various streets running off to the right and one gated jigger which cuts through to Annesley Road.
Silverbeech Road, Somerville Elegant Edwardian housing can be seen here overlooking Central Park.
Poulton Road, Seacombe A small row of shops which now have the privilege of overlooking a Tesco Metro, weather this will kill off this already decimated part of Wallasey is yet to be seen.
Borough Road, Seacombe The sign reads "BOROUGH ROAD LATE VICTORIA ROAD" Only this rusty sign remembers the days when Borough Road, Seacombe, was known as Victoria Road. The reason why the name changed is something to do with their being two Victoria Road's in the Wallasey area (the other being in New Brighton). Apologies for the slant, I had a group of berly men looking at me at time, requiring a quick getaway!
Jigger Edith Road-Florence Road, Seacombe One of few jiggers that are yet to be gated. This one in particular forms an easy cut-through from Brougham Road to Florence Road whilst crossing over three streets. Not only does this save time if wanting to access Borough Road and its amenities, but also allows quick access to Brougham Road for the 403 bus to Wallasey Village!
Grange Road West, Birkenhead Now a somewhat quiet shopping street on the fringe of Birkenhead Town Centre, this used to be a little more lively on a saturday. Some older folk, still start their weekly or daily shop on Grange Road West and work their way down to the Market/Bus Station
Westbourne Road, Birkenhead A somewhat eclectic mix of housing here, the sudden change in size and style can only mean one thing around here, your entering Oxton!
Westbourne Road, Birkenhead Especially for those advert enthusiasts, try this one for size! It reads "Weeks and Sons...Sunblind Manufacturers...Tel Cla 5589". I would imagine "Cla" refers to Claughton, which lies on the other side of Birkenhead Park.
Balls Road, Birkenhead This building used to elegantly curve around the corner into Ridley Street. Now, the remaining unit, is being demolished after a gap of a few years or so.
Balls Road, Birkenhead A side view of the partially demolished building, I was somwhat shocked to see that some one could even contemplate demolishing such a beautiful piece of domestic architecture! One hopes that the land wont be left lain derelict for the next 10 years or so.
Balls Road, Birkenhead This view from here shows the building back in March 07.
