Very interesting, marky. Wanting to find out more about the
Resurgam, the world's second mechanically propelled submarine, built in Birkenhead in 1879, I found this interesting site about the wreck of the sub off Rhyl where she foundered on February 25th 1880 while being towed:

Resurgam, a steam-powered submarine, was designed and patented by Manchester clergyman Reverend George William Garrett. The submarine was built in 1879 by Cochran & Co in Birkenhead for the then cost of £1500.
That same wreck site cited above, by the way, has information on the wreck of the
Mary Rose and other interesting wrecks around the UK -- worth a look-see.
