In regard to your post, Ged, similarly when I toured part of Battlecrease House, the former Maybrick mansion on Riversdale Road, Aigburth, at the time of the 2003 Ripper convention at the Adelphi, the tenant told us that he had experienced something when he drank Stella Artois! A facetious reply, of course.
